A Japanese scientist who loves the NFL. My fandom started unexpectedly — while studying as a PhD student in Boston, I joined a lab Fantasy Football league knowing almost nothing about the NFL beyond Tom Brady. I happened to draft Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas, watched their games on TV, and was completely hooked. I've been a die-hard Saints fan since the 2018 season.
Back then, people kept saying how bad the Saints' salary cap management was every single year. Not buying it, I started digging into the numbers — and somehow ended up becoming way too knowledgeable about salary cap mechanics. I later moved near San Francisco for work, started going to 49ers games, and now root for both teams.
