Chase Youngが生んだ「FumbleCeption」
Chase YoungがTeddy Bridgewaterの投球腕へhit。fumbleのように揺れながら前方へ飛んだボールをKamren Curlが空中でcatchし、INTとなった。
2020年12月27日のPanthers対Washington Football Team戦。前半残り21秒、Teddy Bridgewaterがpassを投げる瞬間にrookie DE Chase Youngが右腕へhitした。ボールは手元で大きく揺れてfumbleのような軌道を描きながらも前方へ飛び、S Kamren Curlが地面へ落ちる前にcatch。公式記録はinterceptionだが、fumbleとINTが混ざったような見た目からNFL公式が「FumbleCeption」と名付けた。同じ試合の後半にはYoungがBridgewaterからstrip-sackし、自らfumble recoveryも記録している。Washingtonは13–20で敗れたものの、YoungはこのseasonのDefensive Rookie of the Yearを受賞した。
